Ok...i've been given the opportunity to play City of Heros or World of Warcraft...both free of charge. I'm still in the midst of a crippling Morrowind relapse and play time is limited. So...what do you think...CoH? WoW? Neither?

Take the poll and/or lemme know what you think.

Thx!

ps - oh, and I do play planetside a bit

I have never touched WoW, but CoH is very limited-time friendly. If you play a scrapper, it is easy to solo and I've done missions in under 15 minutes (I am level 16).

City of Heroes, I get my fantasy genre fix every week at the DnD table, CoH provides much needed bash the bad guy stress relief every night after work, and is very time friendly, I can always acomplish something... even if its something small, and if I have a few hours to kill then its Task Force time.

City of Heroes. I don't know much about World of Warcraft, but I've read beta testers' comments that say that it's a lot of farming rats and the like at the beginning. City of Heroes actually makes you seem like a hero from the very beginning. There's no crafting or anything like that, however, so if you really prefer the idea of a dwarf weaponsmith to a fire-slinging guy in suit and tie with a medieval helm (or one of the other 8 million characters you can create), you should go with World of Warcraft.

I'll also agree with the idea that City of Heroes is time friendly. Most missions can be completed in 15 minutes to half an hour.

I gonna have to question the accuracy of the comments you've read. The designers at Blizzard specifically designed the game to avoid levelling treadmill. Nor do you start out fighting wimpy enemies like bats, rats, and snakes. From the very start, you'll be fighting enemies like gnolls, bandits, wolves, goblins, etc.

In fact, most of the reports I've read from World of Warcraft beta testers state that the best way to level up is by questing. You also get expirience the first time you enter a new region of the world.

I'd kill to beta WoW or EQ2. I played COH, and while briefly fun, I was bored within a week.
What archtype(s) were you playing and what Level(s) did you reach? 'cause I don't see how you could experience enough of the game in a week to be bored with it.

I'd like to know this as well. I'd also like to know whether you soloed or went around in teams. Finally, was it beta or release?
