I rarely play "d20 Modern". I use the system to play specific kinds of games... and whether magic is included or not depends on the setting.

My superhero games have both d20 Modern style magic and magic-based superpowers. My Star*Drive games don't have magic-- except for Planescape crossovers.

Haven't really used the system for anything else. The only other game I played in was a Post-Apocalyptic setting that barely included psionics as a kind of mutation.
 



I don't currently play a D20 Modern game, but I would if given the chance. I like the idea of a few regular joes getting sucked into something fantastic - rather like in the movies... whether this fantastic situation is like Jurassic Park, or Time Travel, or Undead Slaying, or Alien Invasion, or Super Powers, or Magical/Dimensional Incursions.... or just a mix of all of the above.

So to answer your question: Oh yes, bring on the magic.
