"Should" be in there, or are in there? Hardly. As I said in my previous post, and shall repeat more clearly: there are no comprehensive merchant rules in d20 (a small blurb in Seas of Blood, while very much appreciated, is not useful)... and there are 3 sex-related d20 books. No wonder people think there are too many d20 books, and needs still aren't being met (another rant for another thread...!).ArthurQ said:Um... There are books out about PC's owning ships. Enworld has 2 books i think about inns and taverns and fairs, stuff about owning them should be in there.
Yeah, I'll get right on that. Sorry, d00d, I think not. I very much value my free time, and writing a d20 book sure as heck does not figure into that. That's what I pay others to do. (Why would I ask for certain books when I can write it all myself? What a silly suggestion.)And in general, the great thing about d20/ogl is that you can create what you feel there is a void in.
You think a book should be written for those topics? Then write one.
Yes, they would give the "guh?" and leave (again, rightfully so) despite the fact that it's based on something from the "real world". Just because it's from the real world, doesn't mean it can't be considered creepy in a D&D RPG. And, like I said in my post above, my group would consider that creepy.hunter1828 said:Despite the fact that the Sacred Prostitute is based on the real world Temple Prostitutes of the ancient world? They are know from Babylon, Egypt, Greece & Rome, amongst others. I only point this out because the PrC isn't just something made up, but, like many other classes/PrCs in the game, have real world origins.
Heard that. There's creepy "Your character's brain has just turned into mushy goo" creepy, and then there's creepy "The DM is exposing himself" creepy.arnwyn said:Just because it's from the real world, doesn't mean it can't be considered creepy in a D&D RPG. alright then, you value your free time more then the "demand" for a product you think should be on the market. Obviously noboby else has decided to release a comprehensive book detailing.Yeah, I'll get right on that. Sorry, d00d, I think not. I thought meeting Joe was one of the high points of Gen Con. Smart guy, good author, good drinking companion.
Knew New Orleans enough that we could reminisce.
Definitely not my "type" though

NOT saying that anyone who buys and uses BOEF is therefore creepy. I haven't been super impressed with the previews (neither the art nor the rules), but I would have a look at it. The SUBJECT MATTER doesn't bother me and doesn't make it out of the realm of possibility for my group.
But then, we game across the street from an elf bar. I mean, a leather bar.
Mm, Galadriel in leather.
