possibility of the various faerun books being turned into movies

i was wondering what the possibilities of a movie based on the various faerun books (featuring drizzit) would be, considering the books themselves are so popular. ^_^

Hmm... Well, I know Wizards was negotiating with some production company to get an Icewind Dale TV show together, but the project has been 'put on hold' last I heard, which I guess means canceled but with the chance of future negotiation. I've never been able to understand why the D&D movie had to be set in some generic fantasy world with no big names. Plus, could you imagine the success of such a movie that features everyone's favorite white-haired, leather-clad, scimitar warrior?

They can go ahead and make Faerun movies or TV shows. If they can do a good job of it, more power to 'em.

But please, if they're going to do Icewind Dale, for love of mercy, change the names. At least one name. having your major female lead named after a cheese just won't do at all...
