D&D 5E Post Your 3 Favorite and 3 Least Favorite Pieces of Art from Fizban's Treasury of Dragons

Maybe the magic isn't effective if you pour it that way, but only through the over-the-head method? Rituals in stories make those performing them do seemingly silly things at times...
It's 100% an image composition problem.

If she had been holding the helmet properly, it would be slightly above and in front on her head, but holding it that way, at the "angle of view" we have, the helmet would block our view of her face. So to make sure that we could see more of the action, the angle of the helmet was reversed. The better solution would have been to depict the scene from an entirely different angle.

I actually cant stand that picture. At first glance I thought it was a couple (like in a relationship) of Dragonborn, and it was 'yeah ok, no problem' but then I saw it's a Dragonborn and their pet that looks way too much like them, and...yeah eye bleach please.

LOL - I didn't see it that way. But part of me wondered "do reptiles lick as a form of affection?" so it still felt a bit off.

I mean I get what they are going for, the slobbering dog type trope, but it really weirded me out, but I'm not into the animal-esque races anyway, maybe for that reason alone.

"Oh I'm a cat person, with a pet cat.'

Like, yeah, doesnt sit well I dont know lol.

This weekend I got the time to take a closer look on the art... I get why people are not into the gem dragon and deep dragon art, but honestly, I love it. I like that they don't look like regular dragons, and the deep dragon reeeeally looks disturbing, like a creature from the depths should look IMHO.

I actually like the design of the deep dragon a fair bit. It's 99% sure it won't go anywhere, but it gave me an idea for a campaign centered around it. I also like the art for the sea serpent

The Deep Dragon art for some reason reminds me of the Deep Crow from Acquisitions Incorporated.

I like the large milky eyes, the fungus like growth in the neck and the lower to the ground shape. I know they don't look much like menacing dragons. But they do look like terrifying lurking creatures from the underdark... we have so many Menacing majestic dragons, I like some of them to break off from that mold. I think the art really fits if the idea was to make a dragon with this description: "Making their lairs in the depths of the Underdark, deep dragons are nightmarish cousins of chromatic dragons. The warped magical energy of their subterranean realm gives them the ability to exhale magical spores that instill fear and scar the mind."

Do you know which artist did those? The Gem dragons/Deep?
