Hello Everyone,

Just a simple poll here for those playing 4E. Does your group use power cards during gameplay for most/all combat encounters?

If not, how do you manage powers and their use.

Completely and totally use them. We cut them out and slip them in the trading card protectors (which allow you to write over them with dry-erase pens, making bonus/penalites easier to keep track of).

One of the smoother ideas, imo, for 4th edition.

Wish there was a "use them in some of my games, not others" option, because that's what I do. I have one DM who prefers them, and another who prefers typing up his own sheets.

Both work fine for me.

While most of my group uses power cards (kept in a clear plastic card sheet and flipped around when used) I find I don't like them. I just put my character sheet in clear plastic sheet holders and use a dry erase marker to 'X' out powers as they are used. It is really quick and handy when you use something like Channel Divinity and you can 'X' out every channel divinity power you have.

I use the CB on my laptop when I play, so I use the power cards it generates. Everyone else either uses printed out CB cards or handmade ones (for the non-DDI subscribers).

Oh sorry. Let me clarify. Most players print out the character sheets from the character builder, double sided, without cutting out the cards.

A couple of my players have their stats written our on paper with shorthand for attacks.

We don't need power cards. Everyone in our group creates their characters in the Character Builder and prints their sheets from it. People just tick the little box that says they've used a power and it takes care of itself.
