I am going to use the alpha rules to my existing campaign, and give Paizo some feedback. But honestly I will swap to 4edition when the current episode arch of my campaign finishes and the necromancer, druid and bard are released in 4e.

I will likely continue buying some of Paizo's 3.5e stuff, but I have no intention of buying the Pathfinder RPG or any Paizo material that compromises 3.5e compatibility in any way at all. And that means, no, I won't consider using conversion documents or free online material to use Pathfinder RPG adventures. If the adventures can be run with 3.5e without any significant work at all, they are still possibilities.

I do plan on purchasing 4e and 4e products, since I like the looks of the new game. I have no enthusiasm at all for a 3.75 edition that is close enough to 3.5e to claim back compatibility, but in practice is a nuisance to use material for because of *just enough* changes. So I'm hoping that the Pathfinder RPG is 3.5e with the serial numbers filed off, so I can ignore it entirely.

At this point, with Iron Heroes, Arcana Unearthed, WotC's own variant house rules, the Conan d20 RPG, True20 all on my shelf, I'm all in on 3e-ish rules sets.

My interest in 3.5 has been waning since 4e was announced, and trying my first hand at DMing killed it. I've no interest in playing 3.5 with the cracks papered over. I want to play 4e.

I really need an all ALL A-L-L of the above.

I'm looking forward to 4e. I will be starting to run 4e when it comes out (same as I did for 3e). But I will not be converting over my existing 3.5 campaign, which has about two years more in it. I'm a player in a very long standing game (20 years, converting editions), well rreally a bunch of concurrent campaigns in different parts of the Forgotten Realms. The DM for that is rabid anti 4e, but he's a big fan of Paizo. So his campaigns are likely to stay 3.5 but once he sees this it might switch to PF.

Cheers,

I'm undecided on both.

I want a revision of the 3.5 rules. Maybe that revision will be 4th edition. Maybe it will be Pathfinder. Having the option of both out there makes me happy. But until I see more of both, I can't make a decision. Odds are good that the two games will provide very different experiences, anyway, so maybe it will be worth having both.

The pathfinder thing changes me less than it changes the landscape.

I already only intended on buying 4e if I got involved in a 4e game.

As is, with my games, I anticipated that incorporating new players would be a task involving chasing ebay sales and diving dustbins and FLGSes.

Now, I can simply point new players to the currently published Pathfinder.

Pathfinder Alpha 2 intrigues me. If they give an easier to stat Wildshape, I might try to talk my wife into using it as we continue our bard/druid heavy 3.5 campaign.
