Prestiege Class Question

Jaxom

First Post
1. In a campaign I'm running a character is working towards a prestiege class in which one of the prerequisites is having to be killed by a dragon. The question I have is, would being reduced to below 0 hit points count as character death or do they have to go beyond the -10 hit points.

"Death" means "death". Not "really seriously wounded, to the point of unconsciousness". If it didn't take a raise dead/resurrection/wish/etc. to bring him back, he hasn't been killed.

i've heard of losing a level or permanent ability loss, but death?

so essentially you have to find a dragon, not really fight it, and die (i.e. commit suicide). how do you come back? dragons can eat rocks but that doesn't mean they want to.

Classes with these type of requirements I don't think are meant for players to plan to go that route. I see it mor eof a person getting killed by a dragon, coming back from the dead, and then going after this prestige class.

In response to MrFidget, the prestige class is called "Vengeance Sworn, from Dragon Magazine #296. The actual statement under Requirements to Qualify is "Special: Must have been killed by a dragon or had a loved one killed by a dragon."

The class level based on other requiremnts I figure is going to put this character about 8th or 9th level.
