Got it in one, Acmite. That was the origin of this idea.

Bandeeto, Piratecat, KidCthulhu and I have been telling this joke for about that long, but since I decided to dig it up for an April Fool's post and it made me laugh until I wept and couldn't type anymore, I decided it was good enough to share around.

Bandeeto had a lot of fun suggesting new alteration spells for Poodlemancers, yielding such swell ideas as "Umber Poodles," "Pseudo Poodles," "Faery Poodles," and "Displacer Poodles."

This is easily the very best PrC I've ever seen!! It isn't broken or unbalanced in any way, and the granted powers and prereqs (whatever they may be) are reasonable.
