Prince Caspian movie trailer - back to Narnia!

Am I the only one who thought the first Narnia movie was awful? Horrible wooden child actors, Ray Winstone's voice coming out of an animated beaver... I just couldn't stop cringing.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the books when I was a kid. Maybe I'm getting old, but it was one of the worst films of the year.

I didn't think it was great, but I liked it better than a lot of other movies... like just about anything with Eric Bana in it, for instance. And someone will disagree and say Eric Bana's a wonderful actor and a great guy, and I'm a jerk for thinking he's the Ewe Boll of actors - and maybe they're right too. I also thought that Titanic was useless, unlike an awful lot of people.

That's one I was waiting for, but I've heard they ruined it. Never did have a chance to see it in theatre..

Honestly, don't bother. I went to see it knowing that they would have changed things. After all, cinema is a different medium than a book.

And they did change things. Some I could understand, like making Will Stanton American to appeal to a US audience. But others ...

SPOILERS:

In the movie, there are only five Signs instead of six. There are only five Old Ones (including Will) in the whole world. Will all of a sudden has a twin brother who vanished when they were babies (called Tom, not even Tim!). The confrontations between the Old Ones and the Black Rider are physical battles, rather than ones predominantly between wills. Oh, and the Black Rider is now the manifestation of the Dark rather than one of its agents. The whole nature of the search for the Signs changes. The struggle between the Light and the Dark is now a philosophical scientific process, which Will's father has been studying.

The list goes on.

Essentially (in my opinion, of course), they took an exciting and well-written story and turned it into a sentimental, poorly conceived adventure movie.
