Property for bows that allows variable Str Bonuses

I am pretty sure I have see a specific enchantment that covers this.

Here's my new house rule: As part of their inherent enchantment, any magic composite bow automatically matches its strength to its wielder, up to +6.
Instead of putting a specific cap on it you could have it work up to +4 higher than the composite strength rating of the bow or something like that.

I was truely upset to see that WotC failed to correct their error from 3.0 when going to 3.5. A long bow cn be made just as strong as a composite bow. The ONLY real difference between the two is geographical: areas that had long bows were damp enough to disolve the glue of composite bows and places with composite bows were too dry to grow trees good enough to make strong bows.

Umm, sorry, I'll stop ranting now...

That's not an error, it's a feature.

Thanx everyone, even the ranters... :)
I will try to hunt down my ELH and check for it in there.

I like a good 3.5 answer...
Cool! I will have to find one to check it out.

If anyone has a MIC handy an extrapolation of the cost and ability would be greatly appreciated. :D

Elven Greatbow
In the hands of any nonelf, this bow performs only as a +2 composite longbow. In the hands of an elf, this weapon functions as a +5 composite longbow of unerring accuracy with a Strength bonus that matches its elven wielder’s current Strength at all times. Furthermore, any arrows loosed from the bow are considered keen, regardless of the enhancement bonus of the arrow fired.

Caster Level: 23rd; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Craft Epic Magic Arms and Armor, bull’s strength, keen edge, true seeing; Market Price: 2,900,400 gp; Cost to Create: 1,450,400 gp + 39,400 XP.

Unerring Accuracy
Ranged attacks made with this weapon negate the AC bonus granted by any cover short of total cover. The weapon’s ranged attacks also ignore any miss chance from concealment (including total concealment, but the wielder must still aim his or her attacks at the correct square).

Caster Level: 21st; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Craft Epic Magic Arms and Armor, true seeing; Market Price: +6 bonus.

+11 +2,420,000 gp +5 & Unerring
+12 +2,880,000 gp +5 & Unerring & Keen
+13 +3,380,000 gp +5 & Unerring & Keen & Adjustable Mighty
- 479600 for being an Epic elf or half elf.

Since Epic items cost x10, it does look at most the feature ought to cost is a +1 Mod.

I don't even think I'd bill it as a +1 Mod. I'd treat it as a +gp enhancement (Like the Skill or Energy Resistance properties for Armor) and set it at +500gp/MaxStr (i.e. a Mighty +5 bow would cost an extra +2500gp and could be used at no penalty for anyone of any strength, but would provide a max of +5 to damage).
