Prophecies of the Dragon

I have bought the adventure and am almost finished with my initial read through. I have heard and read very little on this adventure. Has anyone else here read it / started running it????

If so, what do you think?

I have it and IMHO its only good for the appendices in the back and ideas to steal. The adventures themselves either make the players just bystanders to the scenes, or they are complete and utter overkill on them (the CRs are WAAAAAAAAAAY off in this one).

I wish I had waited until the book was on the 50% rack at my local stores, because I feel like a heel buting a book of IDEAS for $30. Ugh.

It could have been so much better. The only cool thing about it is that they show a DM how to fit the characters exploits tightly into the novels themselves w/o them knowing the outcome of the adventure.

Anybody knows if are there any other WoT product on the production plans of WotC ?

I have read about no new WoT products. I can see why, there has been almost no interest in any WoT posts on these boards and their newest product is weak at best.

I for one love the WOT game. The bulitin board game i'm playing in is one of the best games i've ever been a part of, period. It would be a real shame if wizards doesn't throw any support to the game.

I was under the impression from the beginning that Wizards was going to throw the game out there with only one big supplement and then cease support.

It was made clear right from the start that the WoT license only applied to the main book and prophecies of the dragon. I have even seen people complain about the lack of WoT products...Don't give WotC a hard time for something that has already been decided etc. They simply don't make a lot of money on such things as WoT.

I am currently working my way through PotD, and I think I will basically have to rewrite it from the ground up.

On the Wizard's boards a couple of WotC people came right out and said that there will be no more support Even Charles Ryan, the Main Guy in Charge of WoT, no longer frequents the message boards because he has been assigned to other things.

We are on our own.

So, excepting the adventure, what's in the POTD to make it worth $30?

Feats? Magic items? Interesting NPCs (both uber-NPCs, like from the book, and regular NPCs)?

Or should I just pass it by?
