Psionic Dorje question

A player in my group is taking Craft Dorje as his 5th level feat trade out for Resculpt Mind. He is a Shaper, primarily a constructor and intends to go for the Constructor prestige class. Since he is taking the Craft Dorje feat, I would like to know if the feats that enhance the constructs (such as Empower Construction) work for a power manifested that is stored in a dorje? Is there any extra cost to making the dorje?

AFAIK, Dorjes use the same rule as Wands. Empower Construction affects spells you cast, but not item-based spells. Once it's in the item, it's a standard spell, with all of its characteristics (save DCs and caster levels, mainly) determined by the item, not the caster. For the same reason, having Spell Focus doesn't increase the DC of a wand I make.

But that's more of a gut call than anything else. It's not like metamagic, where it changes spell level, so by the core rules it wouldn't change the cost of the item. This is yet another reason why it shouldn't apply.

And yes, I have a Constructor (level 15 character). He's loads of fun...

You can't put psionic feats into a Dorje, nor can you use your own psionic feats on a dorje.

Only metapsionic feats can be put in a dorje.
