Here are my house rules for psionics.

  • Psions and Wilders gain Psycrystal Affinity as bonus feats (psions at 1st and wilders at 3rd)
  • The soulknife's mindblade doesn't count as a magic weapon until 4th level when it gains a +1 enhancement
  • Soulknifes gain powerpoints and powers like psychic warriors
  • Soulknifes can choose any of the psionic melee abilities for their mindblade

* Energy stun increases the save DC by 1 per 2 PP spent on increasing damage, not by 1 per PP.
* Energy missile does the same, and is limited to one target in its base version. You can augment it with 2 PP per extra target you want to hit, and this does not increase save DC.
* Dispel psionics augmentation increases the "cap" on the caster level check, but not necessarily the level check itself unless you're high enough level to take advantage of the higher cap. In other words, a 7th level psion using 7 PP on a dispel psionics still rolls d20+7 for his dispel check, but a 16th level psion doing the same rolls d20+14.
* Use the metamind from Hyperconscious, not from the XPH.

I also have some things about how psionics and magic interact with each other. Psionics and magic are considered to draw upon the same foundation of power, but in different ways and with different traditions. This means:
* Effects that deal with the power itself work normally on both. Examples are globes of invulnerability, dispel magic/psionics, and Spell/Power resistance.
* Effects that provide information normally won't provide information specific to the other type. Example: A detect magic will reveal a psionic aura, with location and strength, but not discipline (since that's psi-exclusive). Spells exist that reveal specific information, but they're higher level. One exception here is identify which reveals both magic and psionic effects.
* Things that are based on the effects of magic/psionic rather than the magic/psionics itself work normally. Example: a psionic resist fire works perfectly well against a scorching ray.
* Spellcraft is a different skill from psicraft, Use Magic Device is different from Use Psionic Device, and Knowledge (Arcana) is different from Knowledge (Psionics).
