Putting a positive spin on the PDF debacle

I own most of the Paizo stuff already but their is a couple of PDF's I still don't have so later this month I will pick them up. i will also buy something not sure what but something from RPGnow later this month. Feel for places like RPGnow and drivethru ect. If the budget allows i will buy from each of the big online stores that was effected to show some support.

Paizo Publishing greatly appreciates customers of our PDF titles. Accordingly, we have just announced a 35% off sale on all Paizo PDFs through the end of April.

We hope this discount allows existing Paizo fans and those who have been curious about our products the opportunity to check out some of our electronic books at an all-time low price. We wouldn't exist if not for customers like you, and now it's easier than ever to take a look at our entire catalog and see if Paizo is a good match for your future gaming needs.

Awesome move, Erik! :)

I went ahead and bought all the Pathfinder Society scenarios. I also got the PDFs for the first two Chronicles products and for the first seven modules... since I had begun my subscription to those two lines only when the discount went into effect, I was missing those PDFs...

You are in good hands either way, as the starting module for both of those Adventure Paths was written by our very best author. :)

Very true! Erik, why don't you start writing adventures more often, hmm? ;) I'm still waiting for my Legacy of Fire -modules (ordered them to my FLGS), but I'm *very* excited about running it! :)

Thanks! Next question in my scheme to buy stuff: I want the big map of Korvosa, some Pathfinder city. I do not know anything about Korvosa, so I can't say what campaign setting or product it's in. I actually intend to open the map as a JPEG in Photshop and replace the "Korvosa" logo with "Rel Astra."

If anyone know what PDF has a Korvosa map, I'd be grateful. Also, if many products have the Korvosa map, which one(s) have it at high resolution, so I can do detailed touch ups?

There is a poster map of Korvosa in Guide to Korvosa, a product in the Pathfinder Chronicles line.

OK, I just went to rpgnow and bought the original Wilderlands of High Fantasy (32pp!) to show my support to them & Judges Guild. Printing now!

Yeah, I plan on purchasing some stuff from Paizo soon. I still can't believe WotC has done this. They are basically trying to force us to play 4th edition D&D or play no D&D at all. That is so greedy and wicked that it's hard for me to get my head around it.

I would suggest checking out the Dying Earth RPG by Pelgrane Press. Written by Robin Laws and designed to recreate the world and atmosphere (an emphasis on bizaare magical wonder, verbal skullduggery, etc.) of Jack Vance's fantasy novels and it looks to me from my perusing the ones I bought recently that a lot is applicable to D&D games. There is also the Primer of Practical Magic making it for 3e/d20 games specifically. Their license for the Vance properties is running out and all their DE stuff is on 50% sale until the end of April when they must stop selling it.

Not to threadjack but, besides the main Dying Earth RPG book and the Primer of Practical Magic, what would you or anyone else feel are core or essential books to get of this RPG before it disapears?

I am interested in picking up some of these. They do sell the hardcopy books at Paizo also (although quite a few are currently unavailable - don't know if that means they will be available again before the end of April or not). However, I prefer .pdf's nowadays so I'll probably get them at RPGNow.
