[Q] Can I cast Polymorph Other on myself to gain a permanent duration?

I definitely like the idea of a character questing to become an elf. It sounds like a great adventure idea, with the possibility for tons of roleplaying. Perhaps some sort of test by the elves is in order to discover if you have the heart of an elf, without the spirit.

Alternatively, planeshift over to a futuristic version of D&D and get a race change.
