Question about sneak attack and multiple attacks

I had a question working on a character. Looking at the Rangers "Hunters Quarry" ability it has wording about what to do if you get more than 1 attack in a round for the extra damage. But with the Rogues "Sneak Attack" it does not do so.

I am looking at the Rogue Daily Power "Blinding Barrage" It is a Blast 3. Lets say I am 1st in Initiative and move forward on a group of Kobolds. I unleash "Blinding Rage" catching 3 Kobolds in the Blast. I moved 1st in initiative so I have combat advantage. Would I get the "Sneak Attack" damage to all 3 of the Kobolds or just one?

I had that exact same question last night. I suspect that only one of the targets of Blinding Barrage will receive additional Sneak Attack damage.

p117 'Once per round, when you have combat advantage against against an enemy ... an attack you make against that enemy deals extra damage ...'

To me that says you can do it once per round, to a specific enemy.

On a raw reading of the sneak attack description it says "Once per round...an enemy...an attack you make against that enemy". So strictly speaking no.

But this is the sort of thing a DM is for (IMHO). I'd rule that the sneak attack damage counts against all enemies vulnerable to it at the moment of attack if they are targets of that attack and are hit by it.

Also Blinding Barage states "target" instead of "target(s)", a small error. But it is those type of small errors that leave me wondering what the design intent of sneak attack was.

Don't suppose Andy Collins, James Wyatt or Rob Heinsoo would mind popping in for a Coke and smile eh?

It also says you decide after the damage roll if you want to apply sneak attack damage to that roll. You can only use it once per round, and only against one enemy.

Ok as per RAW I would read that as if I were getting say 2 attacks against one Enemy I could only apply Sneak Attack on one of the attacks. But in the burst I am treating each Enemy seperately and attacking each one of them 1 time not multiple times. If that makes any sense at all. So once per round I can only use Sneak Attack once on an Enemy. This power just gives me more than one Enemy that I am attacking.

Either way its fine by me just wanting to see what others thought.

It's more than one enemy, but it says "once per round" and "that enemy". So I'd go with only dealing the damage once.

with blasts, bursts and similar area effects, you roll damage once and apply it to all affected targets, right?

So perhaps logically sneak attack on an area effect would go on the one damage roll (presumably the damage is being done with a light weapon or something that actually allows sneak attack, of course)?

Cheers

That's the question I was having also: With a Thunderburst weapon, say a sling, its bullet becomes a burst 1 attack. But you can sneak attack with a sling. And "Each target hit takes thunder damage equal to the normal damage you would deal with a basic attack with the weapon."

So, sneak attack all around, or just once? Can't really say.
