ooc: I understand how Tor, who was breaking the crate, could have miscalculated and been in range of falling objects even though he tried to step back before striking at it, but wouldn't the others have been too far away? The reason he stepped "out from under the crate" was because he anticipated falling objects.

Also, my computer is broken and my wife's computer won't run IC for reasons I don't understand. Tor's reflex save bonus is only the +2 from his Dex.

OOC: My guess is that we aren't having the objects fall ON us, but since we are in a slanted tunnel with the objects pouring in at the top, and us at the bottom, they'll be tumbling down INTO us.

At least it's not a stream of alchemists fire or acid. :D

Reflex save (1d20+1=19)

Gideon quickly brings his shield down in front of himself and tries to use it to deflect the worst of the tumbling debris.

ooc: You're in a nearly vertical shaft, with the crate at the top. You may be out of the initial fall, but they are going to tumble down the shaft and everyone happens to be in the way. Unless Tor plans on catching them all. :)

Tor is unable to maneuver out of the way of the falling debris, taking several hits from the falling items. The rest of the party fairs better, mayhaps because Tor's body slowed it down some.

ooc: Tor takes 8 damage from falling debris, having failed his Ref save. Everyone else manages to avoid damage.

Fimble McGee, Gnome Illusionist

Fimble cringes and squeaks as the falling objects slam into Tor's body. Thanks to the man's body, Fimble easily dodges the now slower moving weights. As soon as he is able, Fimble rushes to Tor's side. "Are you alright? If those things had hit me I think I'd be out for the count..." He looks up into the area that the box was blocking.

OOC: Now that they're not moving, what are the objects that were in the crate? Cannon balls?

ooc: They appeared to be stone statuettes, ranging in size from just under a foot to two feet in height.

The group examines the now demolished barrier. The crate is still there, pieces of straw sticking out of the ruined bottom, but it should be much easier to move out of the way now.

Fimble looks at the statues and smiles sadly. "Looks like we busted up some of Drezel's antiques. Though, knowing what we know now, I wonder how many of his 'antiques' are authentic?" He's ready to follow Tor through the opening.

"I'm OK." Tor confirms, examining the ceiling to see if anything else is likely to fall and whether or not the way is still clear. "I don't suppose any of this stuff matches the description of some of the stolen items?"

ooc: Unless I'm forgetting earlier damage, Tor is now at 36 of 44 hp.
