D&D 5E Racial Feat swap (as SCAG starting character options)

abirdcall

(she/her)
Taking the racial feats from XGtE and treat them like racial options from SCAG (Tiefling, Half-Elf). I'd like to get Orcish Fury in there but can't think of a good way. Can't just lose +1 Str because then the default is to take 15 in Str and Con and not lose anything.

Hill Dwarf - Toughness = Fortitude
Gnome - Cunning = Fade Away
High Elf - Cantrip = Teleportation
Wood Elf - Fleet of Foot & Mask = Accuracy
Halfling - Brave & Nimbleness = Second Chance

I am a fan of customization, and swapping race features is great D&D tradition.

But an other consideration is, these races are unequal. I would probably rank them as follows from most powerful to least powerful.

Wood Elf
Hill Dwarf
Gnome
High Elf
Halfling

The Halfling seems especially weak compared to the other races. Maybe just give Second Chance for free.

I've never seen someone consider Halfling weak before.

It's usually Gnome who is seen that way.

I think they're all fairly close. Some are chosen more because they fit more common archetypes.
