Please indicate how many editions of D&D you have either played or ran games to above 20th level.

Feel free to post further details.

Yes, you can vote for multiple editions, and yes, I am assuming no one has ran a game from 1st to 20+ levels in 4E yet.

I've only done it in 3e and although it could be fun sometimes, most often it just became terribly frustrating. Yes, things were epic, but the combats lasting for hours, the broken disparity between AC and AB, spell DC's and Saving Throws and many more problems just made for a game that wasn't to my taste. Of course one of our DM's just loved it and kept on doing it...

He's DM'ing a low level 4e campaign now, but I can already see how eager he is to get us to into some high level, plane hopping, world shattering, god killing universe changing encounters. Hopefully that will work better in 4e...

You forgot the 'none of the above' choice. I've never run or played a game of D&D past 16th level, ever. Previous to 3E, that level was 12th.

Sadly or fortunately, I've [edit: never only once] played or DMed at 20th level or higher.

BD&D - never did anything above 3rd level.

AD&D1 - DMed up through to 7-8th level, and DMed a couple of short campaigns that started and ended around 10-12th level.

AD&D2 - thinking on this question more, I remember I have actually played a character above 20th level, in one AD&D2 campaign; made 23rd level from starting at 5th, in about one year of weekly playing.

D&D3 - DMed several campaigns, from several starting levels, up to at most 11th level.

Never played or DMed D&D4.

Never gotten past 10th in any edition. No game ever lasts long enough.

Did briefly play a level 12 Duergar Fighter in 3.5, but started at 6th level,
so that doesn't really count in my opinion.

I played a 1E one shot at about 16th level once. But that was a one-shot.

Needs a "never seen 20th" option...in my case, it needs a "never seen 15th". :)

In 1e the highest level I've seen either as player or DM is 12th.*

In 3e, ditto: 12th.

Haven't done 0e, 2e, or 4e.

* - not counting a one-shot through Tomb of Horrors where we used some of the module pre-gens including two 14ths.

I've hit 30+ in OD&D, 1st and 3rd. Never played 2nd, so nothing there.

In Hero, I've played characters for 10 years or longer (My avatar is my longest running character, who has been played about 18 years, off and on).

I play characters for the long haul.

If a game is only going to last 6 months or less, I'm usually not interested. :D

The only game where I went over 20th level was a AD&D 2E campaign for the Labryinth of Madness.

And I DID vote in your poll.:p

I played in a game in which some characters broke the 20 barrier (I made it to 20, so I personally didn't make it, but some of my companions were 21-22).
