Ranged attacks with magical bows & arrows..

This is a little question I had for our DM and he couldnt answer it anymore then I could, nor could we seem to find an answer within the books, anyway here is the question:

A character is using a bow with a +5 bonus, and he is also using arrows enchanted to a +5 bonus as well. How do those bonuses work with each other? does his attack bonus with that bow go up by an additional +5 because of the arrows bonus (on top of the +5 already gained from the bow) essentially making it a +10? and does the same situation apply to his damage as well? obviously the +5 from one of the items will apply somewhere, but the question is do they both stack onto eachother? if not what is the point of using enchanted arrows at all? or vice versa for the bow..

Yeah it stacks. Mighty comp longbow +5 (+4 strength) with +5 arrows would cause 1d8+14 damage at +10 to hit.

As Darklone stated. Another reason for tracking the different bonuses on bow and arrows is that only the arrow's enhancement counts against Damage Resistance. So a +5 bow firing normal arrows cannot even get through x/+1 DR, whereas a normal bow using +1 (or higher enhancement) arrows can.
