...

You know, I respect that people have very different opinions. People love things that I hate, I love things other people hate.

But there is an objective worth to movies, as well as a subjective one. There comes a point where pure technical proficiency has to be taken into account.

People who hated the movie? Makes perfect sense to me, even though I liked it. But I cannot believe that the person who voted "0" actually saw the movie.

Give 'em the benefit of the doubt, it could've been an accident. As it stands I wait and see it in a week or so once the crowds clear up a bit, but it does look good.

Maybe the shaky camera made them sick. I think if a movie made me sick like that I'd give it a zero....

My initial rating is going to be 3 but I think it has potential for a much higher rating once released on DVD. I sat in the middle of the theater and could hardly focus on the movements of the Kung-Fu Panda telling me to turn off my cell phone much less intentional jerky quality of the film (which is one of the best qualities of the film to me). The shaky camera is the only thing that helped achieve the feel of the movie. Storywise I thought it was really lacking in depth and none of the characters displayed much common sese in my opinion. To me though the real entertainment value is going to be when it's available to rent/own. Then I can stop and rewind or slow-mo the video to see what's going on in the background. I think this movie has the potential to hold a lot of easter eggs if you look at everything from every angle.

My gut says this will be a love it or hate it movie, depending on what people think of the basic concept.

Don't think so. Gave it a 6. I was okay with the concept, but don't think it worked very well. Anyway, it cleaned up at the box office which was the main point.
