Rathunt [Knight Otu judging]

"...like I'd bother killing somebody so pathetic..." Tumna mutters to herself. "Nah, sweetie, we just want to take a look at the pouch, and possibly take it."
She leans on Eddy to take a look inside the pouch.

Borkel Hardknuckles, dwarven monk

Borkel is unconfortable and is not sure how to react. He puts his wide hand on Bru's shoulder to confort him, waiting for his friends' discovery.

Bru lets go of the pouch after Eddy snatches it. Inside the pouch is a small gem, definitely worth more than what Gogsmol would have paid.

"It's m-mine.. don't take it f-from me," pleads Bru.

"Why do you say that, Bru? Is it really yours? Be honest, you have nothing to fear from ... (Borkel hesistates while looking at his friends ... me. I want you no harm."

Eddy doesn't like being "the bad guy." He looks at the gem and frowns thoughtfully, trying to find a way out. Then he reaches a conclusion: He'll definitely have to give Bru a couple gold in exchange for it. He sighs and smiles, his conscience feeling better having made the difficult decision. "The path less taken." he mumbles to himself.

"Who was the dead guy in the warehouse anyway? I don't think you two are so incompetent you'd let somebody just slip past you," Tumna says to the two guards. Her mood is already much better thanks to the sparkling find they mind.

"Some... thief... not sure. That warehouse hasn't held anything in years! Gogsmol doesn't even bother much with it. Just lets it rot. We just go by once in a while jsut to make sure no squatters in there. No one to take advantage of Gogs..." Bru says. "And he wants the gem... but I bet it's not his! "

Eddy snorts a laugh at this.

Once Bru has finished, he says, "Not anymore, if it ever was." Eddy then turns to his companions and talks as if Bru is not there. "I would suggest that we reward the poor bugger with a few gold for smuggling the gem out of the warehouse for us. He's earned that much. We can then pawn it and split the cash." Eddy looks at it closely, trying to determine its value (Appraise: unskilled, +0). "What say you all? I believe that is fair all around."

"wait a minute ... this does not make any sense, says Borkel, forgetting about the money splitting schemes. There has to be a specific connection between all of these facts.

Gogsmol's warehouse was unsused and empty for years. Then, all of a sudden, a horrible tentacled monster and a dead thief with a valuable gem appear there. Plus, we have evidence that Gogsmol knew, or at least suspected, that the thief and gem were in the warehouse.

What's happening here? I don't like this. Gogsmol is obviously involved in some very bad business. And you, Bru, how did you know that Gogsmol wanted that gem? And what do you mean when you say that it is not his. Speak the truth, NOW !
