Back!
At the moment it seems that dpdx, Uriel, and wings/Reiter will be the only continuing players... Although wings/Reiter hasn't posted since before I left, I still want to give him a chance to poke back in, as he's stuck with it longer than most.
Vargo, Vexed, Acro... I'll try to leave open the possibility of your characters' return, as you were all good players, but we need room for the new blood. I'll be auto-piloting your characters to somewhere safe with my next post to the IC thread... I apologize for putting words in their mouths, but this game has (or at least had) a strong enough feel to it that I want it to seem as smooth and natural as possible.
One last time, I'd like to thank those who won't be returning for their contributions to this game... It's a shame to see any of you go.
With that said, on to welcoming the new
Festy: I like you character a lot, and let me give not-too-much away in saying that he's going to be a great fit, and have a great role later on. Hopefully you'll find it easy enough to squeeze into the party.
Wippit: I'm not violently opposed to the idea, so long as it's not going to interfere with the party dynamic (by being too powerful, too specialized, too weird, whatever)... Keep in mind the feel of the game thus far (an ogre, for instance, would be strange but not outright terrifying in a city like Bethel -- in smaller towns though, you'd get some really varied responses), and if it's still a character that would make sense in the world, and will match loosely with the power level of the others, then it should be fine.
Also, being available in the MM is a must. I don't have a particularly wide D&D library (wider than when the game started, but still smaller than many), and I can't reasonably allow things in the game if I don't have the mechanics for them.
(BTW, if any of the other players are bothered by this allowance -- for whatever reason -- I am willing to go back on it. I know it's not a privilege I afforded starting characters, due to the way the game was initiated, but at this point there seems to be time for a little more flexibility.)
Macbeth: If you're still interested, bring in a character. No approval needed, remember
On character creation: Follow the rules in the initial post of the main game thread (see sig for link), levelled up to 3000 XP. No extra wealth for those levels, however, as the other players haven't encountered much themselves. (I should mention on that subject: I generally don't try too hard to keep wealth in line with DMG tables or anything, especially for a rp-heavy game like this, but I'm not being intentionally stingy either... If your characters are feeling strapped for cash/items, then they're of course welcome to try to obtain some -- I won't make it any easier or harder than what versimilitude, in my judgment, calls for.)
If there are any further questions, feel free to ask them. Otherwise, get to the game
(Oh, one last thing: If anyone was waiting on me on the 15th, I apologize... Next time I'm away -- which, hopefully, will not be too soon -- I'll give myself a few extra days of padding. I did indeed get back on the 15th, but I haven't had much time to get to the computer since then... Scurrying around trying to find a job, get back in touch with people after being gone for two weeks, et cetera. Anyway, I should be posting more-or-less daily now for the foreseeable future.)
