Real Professions anyone? or What did you do when you grew up?

I've worked the past two summers as an Assistant Researcher at the State Research Center / Industrial Mathematics department. Risk / reliability analysis mostly for NPP's. Starting my master's thesis this summer at the same place, god willing. (And an assistant at the Helsinki University of Technology - teaching a couple of hours a week). Currently a poor student. Come summer ..

I'm a student, my major is (North-)American Studies. I focus mostly on American Literature, but also cultural studies and planning to do some courses in gender studies. In the future I hope to be able to teach at university-level.

I am an attorney, mainly handling workers' compensation claims.

Most of my clients are insurance companies and employers, but I have represented injured workers and still try to keep a few of those cases active so that I keep my mind fresh and able to see issues from both perspectives.

With my current firm just over 2 years, practicing for 9 years.

Ah, the first Attorney brave enough to admit it.

Hey, do you find you have conflict of interest issues with representing both injured workers AND insurance companies and employers?

I'm a professional philosopher. OK, I have a menial job (I work at a grocery store, lol) that pays me a mere $7.80 per hour, but on the bright side gives me about 7 hours worth of thinking time per day as I maneuver around my aisle and come up with an unending stream of DnD campaign bits, anti-government rants, and my general philosophies on life.

Yeah, it's a sucky life, but I deal. All the more reason to enjoy my anime time.

I'm a freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, majoring in history. I'm planning on being a high school history teacher, and if I can, do theatre stuff wherever I end up teaching.

I'm hoping my studies of history will inspire me to finally build up my own homebrew setting...
