The "ae" sound - a cross between the "ay" sound in hay, and the "eye" sound in "eye"

Faerun = fai-ROON, with stress on last syllable.

The "aa" sound = either "aaaa" as in using a tongue depressor, or the broken "ah-ah" as in ta-ARK, with stress on last syllable.

The "ii" sound - definitely broken "ee-ih" as in "ill-LYTH-ee-ir", with stress on second syllable.

Like long i. AE is a dipthong in most languages. [a] is ah, [e] is [ay], the dipthong is more or less like a long i. As the word Caer, which is pretty rare in English, but most fantasy fans probably know it.

Elongated ah. Like father, but maybe a bit longer.
