Recomend games for Wii

Hey all,

We just got a Wii as a birthday gift for my wife, and I'm looking for suggestions for games to pick up?

We just have the Wii Sports right now and she played everything except the boxing and seemed to enjoy it all.

She's not a big video game player so I think the games that take advantage of the unique Wii controls would be best.

Thanks

JD

Wii Sports is one of my favorites.

Trauma Center is also a good one that utilizes the controls, if she likes that sort of game.

For yourself get Excite Truck. It's a fun racing game for people hate racing games. You earn points for crashing and style, not just being first.

For your wife try Wario Smooth Moves. It's a bunch of silly games (I don't like them) that require you to do various motions with the controller (pulling a sword, balancing a broom, pumping up a baloon) all at a fast pace.

We own Zelda, but have yet to even play it.

1) Rayman.
2) Rayman.
3) Oh, and Rayman.

It's a series of minigames (many of them multiplayer) that inventively utilize the controller*, but it's got Wario beat for humor, art & playability.

*A couple of examples being a DanceDanceRevolution-esqe game where you wave the wiimote & nunchuk like drumsticks in time to the beat and a 'whack-a-mole' segment where you aim by pointing the wiimote around the screen then whack them by swinging the nunchuk.

My suggestions are these:
Zelda (best zelda game ever)
WarioWare: Smooth Moves. It's party games, like BBR said, just a bunch of mini games, it's pretty fun if you have a room full of players.
Trauma Center: This is a pretty fun game based on surgery, but don't think it's any kind of sim at all, from what I played you do anything from surgery, to deactivate bombs. It's exciting to see the use of the controllers.
Dragonball Z: This game is pretty fun, and Im not even a huge fan of the material. Once again, it's cool to see the use of the controllers.
Wii Sports & Wii Play are also very fun

I've not got to play this one yet, I'll definately see about renting it and giving it a try.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for sure. It's my new favourite game of all time. Although it may be more of a gamer's game.

My wife and I have been having a blast with Elebits. It's fun, inventive, and ultra-cute. :D

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves is awesome and a lot of fun. Rayman: Ravin' Rabbits is good too. She might find Wii Play fun, but the games are on the simplistic side.

Super Paper Mario is due out fairly soon.

Don't forget that it will play all Gamecube games as well... and now is a good time to find Gamecube titles on the cheap. You will need a Gamecube controller and memory card though. She might really enjoy Pikmin.

Zelda is much fun, but can be challenging for 'non-gamers' who aren't familiar with the series and the types of puzzles they should be watching for and how they should expect to try and solve them. Be prepared to sit there and help. :)
