D&D 5E (Recruiting) Greyhawk Old-School Sandbox-Style Campaign

I believe that the DM needs to set the system they're using, then create the character, assign the type of character sheet used, then tag it as a Player Character and then transfer ownership of it.

I think.

OP got real fancy and yet harder to use over the years.
Yep, you're exactly right! I forget to set the system. It's done now so you should be able to select the dynamic character sheet. Everyone please use the Basic D&D 5e sheet so it is easy for me to find people.

Aww, and I was enjoying the interesting time editing text in the wiki. All of my ritual spells are marked as registered trademarks. :D

I was attempting to mess around with my spell selection on the website and I can't seem to remove added spells.

I've been pretty indecisive about what spells to take. For now I'll just go with what's in my character sheet on page 2 of the thread.

Yeah, I found the sheet a little buggy on "add more" type items (languages, spells, etc). The delete tends to delete one of the items, but not necessarily the one you clicked the X on. It's much easier to just edit the items instead of trying to remove and add a new one.

Ok if the sheet is buggy you don't have to use it. Last time I messed around with it, it seemed fine. But it must be still experiencing growing pains. I'll come up with a standard format though so I can find stuff. In the meantime you can just copy/paste what you have entered in this thread and make any changes you want.

It wasn't extremely buggy, and really only impacts sort of non-critical stuff. Spells would be the biggest point, and I got it working eventually. But all the skills, stats, etc. worked great.

Take a look at the Green Dragon Inn and follow the link to two important NPCs who can be found at this iconic location within the City of Greyhawk.

I will continue to flesh out some important parts of the city, mostly within the River Quarter, as well as the surrounding area in the Domain of Greyawhk, throughout the next week or so until you have some good sandbox material, and then the adventure will begin. In many cases details will be scarce until your characters visit a location, at which point you will be free to add your own notes to the wiki to highlight important meetings which might have happened, NPCs you have met, or hints for adventure.

You can search for the "Rumors" tag in the Obsidian Portal menu bar on top to find areas of the wiki which are good for tracking down gossip and possible adventure; this will often be a good place to go when you do not feel like you have many leads on adventure. Other tags, such as locations and associations will be added as time goes on. Note "Green Dragon Inn" and "River Quarter" are tags as well.

I'm working on a write-up for The Pit (a gambling and combat arena) as well as two NPCs associated with it next. Bear with me right now. I'm job searching and organizing a gaming convention for October so its just a busy time. But I haven't forgotten about it, and I'm eager to start. While we're waiting. How many locations (within Greyhawk and in the surrounding terrain) would you guys feel comfortable with to start a Sandbox game like this? I was thinking 4-6 locations. You'll know a two of those (The Cairn Hills and Castle Greyhawk) by reputation but the others you will be able to visit and gather rumors about jobs, legends, and leads on dungeons and treasure. Does this number 4-6 seem about right or would like you more?

I guess in terms of places to gather information, the number of locations doesn't matter quite so much as the number of sources. The Green Dragon Inn might be one place, but if we get different hooks from the barmaid, the local drunk, the wounded man who staggers through the door, the wandering minstrel and the crazy old man looking to hire five teenagers adventurers with attitude . . .

So at least for the very first run, I'd err on the lower side for number of locations and more leads/destinations/hooks/choices after that.
