Interested! When do we start?

Ussal thinks ressstart thisss isss wassste of time, ressstart the other one! ;)

Also, the best dnd for PbP is 4e - short duration spells most based on saves turn by turn, clearly defined movement, small areas and low number of powers/options allowed some fairly good interractions with maps and turns and following of active effects.

I know, not a popular opinion. And I hated in in live sessions. :D

So we have 10 people who want to play. Instead of Fitz running two games, I’d be happy to take half the group and run something. It will also be short and I’d also want to maintain a 1 post per person every day as well. My summer is relaxed so I’m thinking if we start next week sometime, we can finish by Labour Day??? Then Fitz gets to actually play a game instead of running two.

Edit: I’ll start a new thread if people are interested

Taran's suggestion above sounds great. I'd love to play as well. However, I don't want anyone to feel like I'm leaving anyone out of this game. It's possible that we could do both - I have an idea on how to run 10 PCs, if need be, but I have to ask a few questions first:

1) How familiar are you all with Forge of Fury?
2) Am I right that @Kobold Stew was the only one of you that played my Vault of the Dracolich game? I just can't remember.

The reason I ask, is VoD was a Game Day Adventure in which multiple parties enter the same dungeon at the same time from different locations. I have run it several times IRL and, while I always discover something new about the story, I know it well enough that my prep time at this point is really small.

But it occurred to me that I could do the same with Forge of Fury, which I know nearly as well, but I suspect that it, being around for 20 years and very popular, might be too familiar to you all.

1) I got the free promo second(or first?) level of the dungeon with D&D beyond. That is the only part of the adventure I know. I inserted it into a homebrew campaign for some friends. I with send you a DM with the details of that part of the adventure so you know what I'm talking about.

2) I've never heard of the Vault of the Dracolich

I've never heard of the Vault of the Dracolich
Many haven't. I could write a whole thing on how some of the best ever (IMO) WotC-written adventures happened during "the interregnum" (as I like to call it) - the space between 4e and 5e. The trouble is, none of them were marketed for sale. They were given to WPN stores and used at conventions. Mostly to playtest 5e.

They are, if I remember, Legacy of the Crystal Shard, Murder at Baldur's Gate, Vault of the Dracolich, Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle, Scourge of the Sword Coast, and Dead In Thay.

The most famous ones are Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle, I think because it was given away at GenCon in large quantities, and Dead In Thay because it appears in 5e in Tales of the Yawning Portal.

Those two are the WEAKEST of them. GoDC because it's really unpolished compared to the others, and Dead In Thay because (at least to me) it's not very exciting - it's just a big weird dungeon without much story.

The others are really great.
