Regional Feats Standard?

FRCS Regional Feats

I really like the idea of regional feats, but only if they are approximately equal to the core feats in power. Overpowered feats can only really damage a campaign, for the reasons Hong mentioned.

I did read that for the FRCS feats in 3.0, the regional feats were designed in such a way that they were not intentionally more powerful than core feats (according to Sean K. Reynolds). He commented on his own boards that there is really no balance reason to have them separated by region; the feats are separated by region for flavor reasons only.

I haven't read the 3.5 updates for these feats, but I hope that they did not make them more powerful. I like them as an idea (and use them in my own homebrew), but not if they wreck the game by being obvious choices. Some of the FRCS feats, like Blooded, for example, almost pushed the envelope. When all my players want a feat for their characters, it is because the feat is just that cool, or it is just too powerful. The cynic in me always thinks the latter.
