Has anyone ever taken stock of the similarities? I mean REALLY?


Just as a fer instance...

Your everyday ordinary prayer said by any school child would count as a magic spell by any dungeons and dragons metric.

Verbal components? Check. (The prayer itself)
Somatic Components? Check. (Hands clasped together)
Material/Focus component? Check. (The Religious Icon)

Invoking the power of an otherworldly being to produce a supernatural effect?

Check.


Some even use the still and silent spell feats.



Are we a nation of spellcasters?

I'm still waiting for my Empowered Fireball to take effect, but neither Jehova, Yahweh, or Allah have caused it to happen yet.
