Remembering Chairman Kaga

This is my second incarnation on Enworld, I remember during my first incarnation reading the Chairman's account of 9/11 and being moved by his experience. Sadly I remember the posts about his untimely demise as well. We here are a community and as such it is important to remember not only the luminaries such as Eric or Morrus, but the stalwart everymen, like Chairman Kaga, who share their lives with the community at times both ordinary and extraordinary. We are here because we have a hobby in common, but we seek this common ground because we have humanity in common and it drives us to seek others we can relate to and who we feel can relate to us. I don't think anyone who has heard the various elements of the Chairman's life has been unmoved by them, I certainly haven't. My heartfelt sympathies to those who knew him, for their loss, and to those who did not, for while it may not bite as sharply, their loss is no less.

The Chinese have a saying that you live as long as you're remembered. In a way, that's true. So Chairman Kaga and Balsmaic Dragon's brother will live on - in our hearts.

I have to say, I was thinking about his family earlier today when I posted on a thread about New Years Eve & celebrating. Someone had mentioned mourning the loss of another year instead of celebrating a new one, and I thought of how difficult it must be during the holidays for those who have lost someone, which brought Chairman to mind. (Finding this thread gave me the chills). I never knew this person, mind you, but his wife's post on the boards really touched me when I read it.

I think it was very good of you to create this thread remembering Chairman, and hopefully his family is holding up okay and taking care during the holiday season.

Indeed, Ziona, Dr. Midnight should be commended. Cardinal Sinister, if you can, please let Peter's wife know that there are a lot of people who remember her husband and wish her and her child well.

If there was any booze in the house, I'd raise a glass for the Chairman... it made me very sad when I heard the news some months ago. My sympathies still go out to CK's wife and family.
