Umm...isn't a haiku 5-7-5?
Did I mess it up? {goes back and checks each 3-line segment} Nope... they all balance out (but I can see how some might not promounce the word "Ivory" as I do, with three sylables...

Ouch... how embarassing... obviously I need a remedial math class (or I need to pay more cloe attention)... still, it is easy enough to correct...

Fixed. (ah, the miracle of electronic communications)

My group will slowly convert, for me as the rules guru, I ordered the PHB to take a look. Since the character classes were changed so drastic, it will be very complicated to convert our old PCs. I think about letting the old characters continue playing with the old rules while new characters get the new ones.

All better now. :D

My group will probably slowly transition over, as my wife and myself are the DM's of two seperate groups. We're going to have to go over this books with a fine tooth comb, hopefully some things we've always had trouble with will be clarified.

I don't have a problem with change; I have a problem with the revisions changes (and the reasoning for some of those changes). Not all of them, but enough that I don't think the new books are a worthwhile purchase. I will be changing over partially, but that's going to involve me picking and choosing parts from the SRD, then printing out those parts to slip into my books/put into a binder. That's about it.

As far as I'm concerned, they've picked the right issues to change in 3.5, they just made the wrong changes.

That's a very good way of putting it.

(damage resistance, perform skill, jump skill, alter self spell, multi-classed spellcasters - plenty of issues that needed changes; almost any changes other than the ones they went with!)

I am mostly happy with the changes made to D&D by 3.0....but there were some issues I had problems with.

I feel that 3.5 takes those same issues and makes them even worse. So I refuse to "upgrade" I feel that it is by and large garbage.

I will however feel free to pick and choose a few items to add to my game, they did do some really good stuff. (Cohort XP changes and many more).

Ditto. Unlike the major overhaul from 2e to 3E, the switch from 3.0 to 3.5 is more "tinkering" and it's going to create, IMO, a lot more personalized campaigns as DM's and PCs alike pick and choose what changes they want to adopt. And in the end isn't this what RPGs are all about anyway? We are provided with guidlines for an imaginary setting and we should use our imaginations as we fashion what style of game we want to play. It's still our game, folks. Do what feels right to you.

Cheers, F4
