Return to the Barrier Peaks, Fiend Folio, and Unearthed Arcana?

Well, there have been rumors for quite some time about RttBP... anyone know anything? Is it just another damn lie?

Anyone know anything new about the FF3E? I know it's supposed to have a bunch of fiends, info about integrating them into campaigns of all levels, etc... Anyone got any juicy scoops or anything on it? (And no, I'm not asking anyone to break an NDA!)

Also, what do you folks think the odds are of seeing UA3E? If we do see it, I suspect it's going to be more like a cross between the Tome of Magic and Book of Artifacts- more guidelines for item creation, tons of spells, domains, and magic items, prolly some more artifacts.

Just like to point at I know nothing.

However, I'm not sure I'd like to see Return to Barrier Peaks. The great thinbg about the orginal module was no one expected what was happening. However, once people heard what it was, it really ruined the module.

The original EttBP was a ton of fun. It was just unique enough sci-fi that it wasn't a walkthrough for even hardcore sci-fi fans.

But what type of total-paradigm-shift module could they come up with these days? If not a spaceship in the mountains or dinosaurs in the jungle, how could you really put your players off-balance?

I've said a couple of times in other threads that I would really like to see a Return to the Barrier Peaks module done in Dragonstar. This time you are the aliens coming down to see what ever happened to the lost ship, after it has now been ransacked by the ignorant and backward natives. Of course you're looking for something very important that was lost on the ship when it went down. My original idea was research notes for a certain ancient plague (exteremely virulent) that has resurfaced and threatens the galaxy.

I think that would make for a really classic-in-the-making twist on the concept of "return" modules. Come on FFG, buy the rights!

Now that would be a very cool and interesting use of this classic module.

Yeah, if relying on an old classic to make some sales is a good idea... I've noticed the quality never seems to match up though.

god, i've SO been wanting a book that was a cross between those three books, since 3E came out!!!! i like the way you thinkin!
