Return to the Barrier Peaks, Fiend Folio, and Unearthed Arcana?

Well that's easy for you to say but what if you wrote the original and you found out that somebody wrote a book with the same title as yours? Just to make some extra money from the name recognition? Would it be too much to ask WOTC to name it something else? A name THEY come up with? Is this asking too much? Am I out of line?

Well, seeing that WotC is a company that has to make profit, why on earth would they name the book something else than Unearthed Arcana, if that name brought in more money?

The bastards have even admitted on these very boards that WotC isn't here to make gamers happy; they're here to make money. Happy gamers are a necessary by-product for getting their money.

mmmmmmmm

Unearthed Arcana... juicy crunchy goodness.

I think a new version of Unearthed Arcana is called for in a big way. We have the old Monster books, and almost a complete 3E update of the old monsters with those and the upcoming Tome of Horrors. I also like the idea of it being a comboed Book of Artifacts/Tome of Magic with some new outsiders and ancient undead enemies like Scarred Lands Slarecians.

GOOSE!

"UA was a collection of options and extras" - Theuderic

i certainly wouldn't mind a WotC book of 'options and extras'. we talk about that kind of stuff in House Rules all of the time. i think it would cool to have an entire book of variant rules - they started doing it in the DMG, why not expand upon it?

Yeah, if relying on an old classic to make some sales is a good idea... I've noticed the quality never seems to match up though.

Hmm, I'd argue that both Return to the Tomb of Horrors and Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil at least equal if not exceed the originals, but YMMV.
