While it's certainly out of line to tell people what someone else told you in a private email, I don't see how it's wrong to quote something you told someone else.

With respect, one might say the same of anyone in the industry who is thin-skinned, whether critic or author or publisher. I'm of the opinion that you call them on it if someone makes a mistake, but it's unprofessional to insult them publicly. That "zinger" definitely falls under the category of personal insult, and that's never been something tolerated at EN World.

Anyways, from here I don't see this thread headed anywhere but downhill as people choose sides and level insults at one another. We'll close the thread instead, and discuss the matter with Steve off-line.
