Update: Jack's got pneumonia, but is now resting here at home. He's doing much better. Posting might be a bit slower this week as I'm off with my wife and him.

Ikni, unable to move, weaves her arcane shield on the dragon, hoping at least to protect her allies if she can't serve any more useful role in the fight. The action steadies her, the familiar magics eroding the magical shackles on both her legs and her wits.

Rhole’s music reaches levels that create minor turbulence in the area, twirling Haruka one way and the harpy another.

“Sweet merciful muses spare my ears and sanity! How am I to spin tasty masterpieces with a tone-deaf bird screeching at one end and an overgrown winged lizard yapping at the other?”

The Great Ultra-Intense Thundering Audio Ripper unleashes a wail so powerful that even Rhole himself is blasted back, putting some distance between himself and the dragon with renewed vigor to win this battle of the bands.

Derien does not sleep. He waits.

"Right now, I'd be happy to see anything."

Ironheart's ears roar with sounds from another battle entirely than the one he is engaged in now. The sound drowns out even the harpy's shriek, and he hauls himself upright and brings down his weapon in a frenzied strike on the bird-woman, knocking her back. The axe digs deep and the creatures corpse falls back into the water with a satisfying splash.

The dragon seems quite angered by this turn of events, looks at the empty space next to him as a sheet of mist hides the panther from view, "Get the elf. Once he dies, the others will fall shortly." as it unleashes a rainbow of lights over the party. Only Derien is safe. Ironheart's mind is overwhelmed by the colours and he falls to the ground.

The panther reappears as it rakes Derien, sending the cleric to the ground.

"No, don't get th - urk!" Something about the sudden, shocking pain and the taste of dirt clears Derien's head, but can it possibly be in time?[sblock=Actions]Minor: Sustain Astral Condemnation.

Saves versus dazedness and immobilization: Success on both counts[/sblock]

The pounding rhytm of the Great Ultra-Intense Thundering Audio Ripper stirs Derien into action, hindering the panther's vicious assault.

Virtue of Cunning
Derien can slide a square when missed by the dragon, thus putting himself in position that is unchargeable for the panther (like R16). Assuming the panther still moves up to attack him, it should nevertheless prevent Derien from being knocked prone and the bonus damage dealt by a panther charge.

[sblock=ooc, tactics, yadda yadda]Well, we're no longer dazed (are we?) so it seems like time to get out of fireball formation if possible. In particular, if Ikni is going to keep up her mark on the dragon, we/she should move in such a way that it would be hard to catch her and anyone else in the breath weapon at once. Easier said than done, though. Depends on where the panther ends up after all this. Hmm, maybe Ironheart can push it aside? If he can push it so that it's not adjacent to Ikni, she might be able to stand and circle the dragon this round. Wish I had my AP still...

I figure Ironheart for hitting/marking the panther. Again, both of those moves depend on where the panther lands after Derien's slide...

[sblock=dazed?]I've never played it that way. If it says "save ends", I've played it so that you gotta make a save, even if someone kills the monster in question. By "we're not dazed" I meant, "Ikni's not dazed". ;)

[sblock=Slide to R16? ]Yes please. It's not even metagaming; Derien knew where the panther was when the dragon missed him, so he knew enough to try to slide away from it.[/sblock][sblock=Tactics]Rhole, do you have any healing left with which to wake up Ironheart? Life Transference is touch range and anyway I'm scared to use it.

Is our next target the dragon, or the panther? The panther is probably easier to hit, but the dragon's more dangerous and we can heal ourselves by hurting it.

ETA: And oh right, Astral Condemnation is now up to 72 damage prevented, without any to-hit roll required. So broken.[/sblock]

Actually I find at low levels Moment of Glory is a bit better when you're fighting more than 1 enemy. it provides DR 5/all, sustain minor.[/sblock]

ooc: r1, if Derien was slid before the panther's turn so that it couldn't charge, presumably it would have done something else, and possibly ended up in a different square. Can we find out what happened, and where the panther is now?
