D&D 5E Rise of Tiamat hardcover goes for big money

Wow. There are some other RPG books I have that I wonder how much they are going for.

Looks like my Rogue Trader Collector's edition could be worth a pretty penny

Can't find my Dark Heresy 2e core rulebook on ebay right now, but looking at other books, it might be worth something.

White box seems to be going for a little money...never going to sell it.

Looks like the premium reprint I bought a few years back is already selling for...what...around $500...

These people are a little crazy...

You think that's bad? The only alt cover book I don't own is Volo's Guide to Monsters, and it's, at minimum, 350 bucks on eBay. I've seen copies as high as 900 bucks on there. It's wild.

It's crazy that Rise of Tiamat's regular edition is that expensive, though. I'm regetting gifting it to a friend after I picked up the Tyranny of Dragons book. 🤣

Now I'm curious how much the Tyranny of Dragons compilation book is running for these days...
I sold my special edition cover Volo’s for $700 on EBay.

No, but people buying at those prices must be, if not rich, at least well-off.
True, they have sizeable liquid cash to spend. They're likely hoping it's an investment for the future or they're hardcore collectors.

Either way the prices are crazy for what the product is.

What being able to buy PDFs off of drive-thru impacting of this? Likely not, as it's not a printed hard copy.
Or the value of it would decrease if DM's guild had a print on demand version?

I would think that the availability of PDFs (doubly unlikely in this case, as the book has been discontinued and is not purchasable on D&D Beyond) would reduce the price for the standard cover, but the price of the alt one, IMO, is driven by its collectabilty.
