Although there seems to be no mechanic (that I can find) for disarming, it's still annoying that a rogue, even a 30th-level one, is utterly useless without a weapon.
And not only just a weapon, but a specific type of weapon.
I find this to be utterly ridiculous.
The simplest solution that I can see is to allow unarmed strikes to count for melee requirements.
Otherwise there are going to be a lot of situations where the rogue has to sit back and watch everyone else have fun.
