The wagon was being pulled by a servant, it looks like the bodies have been dead for perhaps a few days, perhaps a week at best. With travel so limited in the lands of Rokugan, they have perhaps remained undisturbed for that time.

The DM rolls spot checks...


Fan notices a figure hiding in the brush about 40 feet away, on the opposite side of the road. The figure is crouched low in the brush, does not seem to notice that they have been found out.

Kyuzo glances up and spots the figure as well, from his vantage point he can see that the figure wears a black hood, and a cloth to cover the lower face, though he sees no weapon drawn at the present time.

Michiba spots the same figure as well, as the figure tries to shift and get a better look at the samurai standing in the road.

Those three characters, made the spot check versus the hiding figure.

 

[GWolf]

Fan sighes inside. "You in the bush, rise with your hands above your head" He commands coldly and slowly.

The figure rises quickly and bolts running away from the samurai making his way through the brush, and high grass. Dressed in dark garb, he shouts out a curse, and then a whistle.

 

[Yellow Sign]

Michiba draws his bow and fires at the fleeing figure.

 

[Douane]

Kaiu Kyuzo straightens himself up and and walks a few paces in the direction of the hidden one, before he calls out to him:

"Stand up and show your face! Declare yourself and your reasons for skulking on the lands of the Crab Clan!"

Meanwhile his left hand still rests lightly on the daisho, his right hand stays empty.

Michiba draws his bow and fires at the fleeing figure.

Michiba raises his mighty yumi and fires, the arrow catches the figure in the back, dropping him easily with a scream. The figure drops in the high grass about 60 feet away from the group.

Michiba's total attack was 18, and he did 7 points of damage.

An arrow sails back, but sails overhead and thocks into the dirt road beyond the group. Then there is an eery silence, a gentle wind dancing over their faces.

 

[GWolf]

Fan runs as quickly as he can to the fallen figure, examines if he is dead, while staying low in the tall grass. If he is not dead, he will attemp to knock him out.

 

[Yellow Sign]

"Quickly now! We must capture one of them alive!" shouts Michiba. (OOC: Michiba will move forwards in half moves and if another arrow comes he will try to pin point where the enemy archer is.)

 

[Douane]

Kyuzo tries to locate the hidden archer, shouting to his companions:

"He must not be killed!"
