The best part of random roll in AD&D was the astonishing frequency with which so many players just happened to roll 18/00 Strength.

...though that might have had more to do with junior high than random roll.

Hm. I see. And how does that make you feel?

Well, Dr. Xigbar...um, may I lay back on the couch? Thanks. Ah, how much time do we have left? Plenty?

Well, OK, then. It makes me feel sorry for him because I think he has a need to feel superior, so to induldge that need, he continues to display that behavior.

Other than that, I think little of it, as I would any troll.

:erm:

EDIT: Takea look at his quote page and look at how many times he makes negative remarks are tells people how wrong they are, biting sarcasm aside.

The words 'topic' and 'off' spring to mind. Meanwhile...

I remember a player years ago who joined a friend's game. He came to the table with a fighter character that had a Strength of 18/00.

The DM asked, sceptically, "Did you really roll that?"

"I knew you'd ask," said the player, "so I brought proof."

This was in the days when the most advanced PC was of the order of a Commodore PET. The player was attending the local university, however, and sliced time on its VAX computer. He pulled out of his bag a ream of fan-fold computer paper with printouts of thousands of randomly generated 3d6 stat blocks. Circled half way down the last page was the character with 18/00.

He had rolled it, sort of. He'd just let the computer roll up enough characters to generate the one result he was looking for.

When the laughter died down, the DM let him keep it, because the rest of his stats really weren't that great.

Said in an effort to seem holier than thou, ironically.

Said in an effort to seem holier than thou, ironically.

I do appreciate you informing me of the effort in which I wrote those lines.

Maybe try this? "Seemingly said in an effort to seem holier than thou, ironically."

And, you're not using the term "ironic" correctly. Had I said, "Dadu is a real polite guy," then that would be irony. It is incorrect to say my original statement was both ironic and attempting to seem "holier than thou", if you believe that I was attempting to seem holier than thou. And, it would be incorrect to call your statement ironic for the same reasons--unless you mean to say that my original worlds did not come across to you as "holier than thou" at all.

My statement was meant to imply the last thing you said, which, for the record, I should have skipped to. I also find it amusing that you and Dandu claim to be oblivious to the others attempts to elicit frusteration from the other. It does make for good viewing though.
