D&D General Rolling 20s!!! What are your plans?!

Don't be sad, @Nilbog ! The hobby has just run its course for me. I'm on to other things at the moment.

However, I'm sure that I'll circle around someday to RPGs once I retire in 5 years, 246 days, 22 hours, 57 minutes from now.

Yes. Yes, I'm counting! :LOL::ROFLMAO:
Imo d&d is actually an excellent retirement package fir the social half of things. If i olanned to ever retire that is what my scheduke would be filled in with. (And will be even so as i slow down a little. Love this game)

I'm hoping to get at least halfway through developing a solo campaign for a homebrew gestalt paladin/battlemaster fighter(ish - for a better fit with the paladin, it uses Divine Inspiration dice and Divine Invocations instead of Superiority Dice and Maneuvers) PC.

Having returned to gaming a few months ago after 14 years away, and loving it...

-I plan to continue the campaign I'm running to a fitting conclusion - then start a new one!
-Once my son is a few years older and I've finished the certifications I'm working on, I'll probably switch it up from one biweekly to two biweekly campaigns on alternating weeks.
-Late in the decade, once my son is a lot older, I shall teach him the way of the dice!

That’s awesome! I was also a lapsed gamer near the end of 3.5

I'm going to run an urban 5E campaign and work on my expanded Social Interaction rules layer while I do it. I'm also going to try and branch out and play something other than D&D, although given the options available where I live that's harder than it sounds.
Ive decided to begin a year and a half two stage major project of designing an edition wide overhaul of 3/3.5 wherein i remove levels and create a way of playing d&d that mostly uses those rules but instead of levels a lot of the parts and the bits and pieces are broken down into chunks worth x xp where "x" has differing values depending on what you are buying. That will probably take a year to do well. Another half a year will be spent on working out the kinks and testing it for adjustments and changes needed.

Some enterprising soul on Reddit put together this Google Drive Spreadsheet of D&D-esque Games that is really quite something to behold. One of my favorite OSR games Beyond the Wall is on there, but a more indie style game I've been curious about called Blades in the Dark is not.

For my LMOP->homebrew game, I will finally get the party to my own world. Which is terrifying and exhilarating, since it's the first time I'll have to let the ink dry on parts of it. I've spent the better part of 2 years designing it for them while DMing LMOP to get the campaign started. Now they're in the middle of a planar journey to my world.

I also am DMing another group through Descent into Avernus. Barring scheduling problems, I think we can expect to get close to the final chapters of the adventure by year end. But then again, it took them 3 sessions to get through the Dungeon of the Dead Three...so there's that.

One of the best things a father can teach his son imo. D&d.

I have a very longstanding campaign to wrap up. It’s 5E, but includes stuff going back to every previous edition. It’s a great campaign and a lot of fun, but I do want to close it all out and give it a proper finish.

Once that’s done, I want to play a bit more often. I also want to try out more games. One member of my group wants to run Five Torches Deep, so I’m looking forward to that. Another wants to run Mothership, and I’m really stoked for that. I may also try to run a short game of Esoteric Enterprises, which I just picked up and seems like it’s be pretty cool for a short campaign.

Another goal I have is to run “Season 2” of my Blades in the Dark campaign. The game and system were a huge hit for my group, so we’ll be revisiting it at some point once my 5E campaign is done.

If you’re thinking about giving it a try, @Quickleaf, I recommend it highly. It’s a lot of fun.
