ROTK Extended Edition: Untagged Spoilers/Scenes added!

Heheh, good point. Still, though, you may have learned the wrong lesson. RotK was absolutly amazing, and I can't begin to imagine how the Extended will be. Seeing the theatrical first is fun just to watch the Extended and get really excited when you see something new.
Nah, this way I avoid saying "jeez Jackson butchered this book..." as much. Now I can see all the good stuff I thought should have been in the movie in the first place and I won't get mad that the said good stuff got dropped so PJ could have more Arwyn flashbacks and stuff. ;) It works out best this way becuase people have to hear me bitch less.

A word to the wise Flexor: The minute you see the Battle of Pellenor Fields you're gonna wish you'd seen it on a big screen. Trust me. I have a huge TV and it still wasn't the same.

Exactly. So many of the scenes just HAVE to be seen on the big screen, for a mix of the amazing scale and just how well put together they are.

Not to mention the sound! The impact of several scenes is diminished without the sound reverberating through your ribcage! :)

I'll take the trade off a happy Flexor watching the movie on a small screen vs an annoyed and nitpicking Flexor watching it on a huge screen and not enjoying it as much.

P.S. Theater sound is far too loud.

Again Peter Jackson makes George Lucas look stupid again. Lucas throws in crap for the Special Edition of the Special Edition DVD set and Peter Jackson works wonders with his telling of LOTR. AND he is honest and upfront about what you are getting for the movies. Theatrical and Extended each one! He has my money!!!

I'll agree there. The surround sound itself isn't bad, but the extreme volume of it gets ridiculous at times.

I don't think you have to worry, Flexor. The extended edition of RoTK will be released in the theatres in December, so I hear. Or at least, some of the braver ones will be doing the Extended trilogy. Don't eat or drink anything beforehand. :)
