RPG Evolution: Goodbye But Not Farewell

After eight incredible years, I am stepping down as Managing Editor of the EN World Columnist Program.

When Morrus first offered me this role, I took it begrudgingly. I wasn't sure I could handle the organizational weight of running a global team of writers while maintaining my own weekly column. But a funny thing happened: the work, the people, and the community drew me in. Eight years later, I'm having real difficulty imagining my life without it. I am immensely proud of the sheer volume, quality, and dedication displayed by this team. Here is a look at the writers who made the EN World Columnist Program what it was, presented in alphabetical order:
  • Andrew "Peregrine" Corone: An insightful writer who contributed over 30 White Dwarf reviews, alongside his own valuable reviews, advice, and the popular Masterclass article series.
  • Beth Rimmels: Our star Dungeons & Dragons writer and reporter. Beth covered every major piece of D&D news and became legendary for her thorough reviews of the latest products from Wizards of the Coast.
  • Charles Dunwoody: A workhorse of the print world, Charles wrote nearly 270 RPG Print News updates, plus countless interviews, reviews, and advice columns.
  • Dawn "LPuff" Dalton: Our authority on Paizo’s output, Dawn wrote dozens of updates covering the Pathfinder and Starfinder game lines with passion and knowledge.
  • Egg Embry: One of the program's longest-standing writers, Egg wrote in excess of 300 RPG Crowdfunding News updates, plus many, many interviews, reviews, and opinion articles—a testament to relentless dedication.
  • Lewis Pulsipher: One of the great foundational RPG writers who contributed to the Fiend Folio and White Dwarf, Lew wrote over 240 Worlds of Design articles, blending military history with sharp game design analysis.
  • M.T. Black: A dedicated historian of the hobby, M.T. Black wrote exactly 100 Dragon Magazine retrospectives, providing an invaluable archive of RPG history for the community.

Thank You

There are many more columnists not named here who have contributed to the Program's sucess. To every one of our columnists, past and present: Thank you. It’s not easy doing this week after week, month after month, year after year. Your professionalism, consistency, and unique voices are the true legacy of this program. These writers aren’t disappearing. Morrus will be handling the next iteration of the program and will have more details in 2026.

Speaking of which, my deepest gratitude to Morrus: Thank you for entrusting me with this program, for your patience, and for the opportunity to build something truly special within the tabletop gaming community.

Finally, thanks to all of you. I am so grateful for every reader who clicked on a link, commented on an article, or corrected us when we made a mistake. It has been an honor to serve this community.

As for me, I'm still here on EN World, and you my weekly RPG Evolution column will continue every Monday (I've been writing this column for over a decade!). I look forward to dedicating my creative energy to writing and delivering the analysis and worldbuilding insights you have come to expect.

Farewell for now, and may your dice rolls always be natural 20s.
