Rule of three (March)

Will there be any update to the original warlock class features of Warlock’s Curse and various powers (similar to the rogue’s Sneak Attack and the wizard’s spells received in Heroes of the Fallen Lands)? The warlock from Player’s Handbook will receive the same update treatment as the five classes mentioned above—which will include ensuring that the warlock’s class features and powers inflict enough damage. Expect this update treatment to appear in Dragon, with a target date of June. (We might need to push that date back, as we’ve just kicked off the project, but that is our target date.)

Why will the update be in the Dragon? Will it be in a subscriber only article? Didn't they say errata will always be free?

I hope I'm just paranoid...

Good news indeed! Ironically, I was about to post a thread asking if anyone knew about WotC plans for updates, since they had stopped issuing them for a while... my questions have been answered in full. :)

The article didn't say anything about the update being in Dragon. In fact, check the link to Rules Updates in the article; it leads to the old, familiar updates page.

That pretty clearly states the update will be in dragon.

Now, it may also appear in a rules update, and REALLY should, but that doesn't change the fact that it will be in dragon.

Player material goes in Dragon. If it's errata (or update, or whatever they want to call it), it should still be free (idk, I suppose they could manage to screw that up). I'd actually be happy to see a full article on the subject and not just a few lines of unexplained "improvements" in an update release.

So let's say that I think you're being paranoid, and I hope that you're being unreasonably paranoid.

Just because it is in Dragon does not automatically put it behind the paywall. A lot of articles recently have been in front of the paywall, but technically Dragon articles.

If it is a fairly significant update they may just want to give us a Dragon article to discuss the logic behind it and maybe provide some extra content beyond what would normally be errata. It also gives them a chance to make sure it all gets thoroughly tested by the community before they issue an errata that ends up needing to be changed later. Makes sense to me.

Still wondering they they explicitly mentioned the Dragon...
It could potentially even just have been a mistaken reference, but I'd like to think that it indicates that there are plans to address the issue in an article where they can include additional content. And if that's the case, I'd be more than happy to see them continue with that idea when issuing further updates.
