Thunder... thunder... thunder... Thundercats! Ho!

Announced this week at San Diego Comic Con by Dynamite Entertainment and Lynnvander Studios is an official TTRPG featuring the adventures of Lion-O and his fellow Thundercats as they struggle against the evil machinations of Mumm-Ra.

A 250-page rulebook will cover Thundercats lore, characters from the cartoon show and the comic-books, and, of course, the rules of the game. Lion-O, Cheetara, Tygra, Panthro, Pumyra, Mumm-Ra and more will feature in a game which is heading to retail 'soon'. You can build your own heroes to join the Thundercats--or, indeed, the Mutants.

There's no release date or system details yet, but we'll keep you updated when we hear more.

Update — the game has been confirmed as powered by 5E, and is coming to Kickstarter soon.

Feel the magic! Hear the roar! Thundercats are loose!

Its been a minute since I've seen the original TV series, but would say its comparable. Has backstory on the Mutants and I love what they have done with Snarf, making him less whiny and more important. The comic is teen rated so not too dark.

I saw a bit of the 2011 series and while honestly it wasn’t that good, it did some good world building and lore extrapolation. Also, there was this plotline:
Bobby Hill Pumyra the traitor

So whats the worldbuilding like in the comic and whats the implications for an RPG. Is it oneshot Cats v Mutants or is there some variety?
