Rule of three (March)

I cannot stress just how much I love the Rule of Three.

1. Good.

2. Excellent.

3. Fine.

Also, I would like to point out that I called #2. The last time Class updates were being discussed, I said it would be more than repackaging into Essentials-like format, and this pretty much proves that.

I guess we'll have to wait and see to be absolutely sure.

No problem if the errata will be both in the Dragon and rules update :)

Still wondering they they explicitly mentioned the Dragon...

This month's issue of Dragon will probably make things clearer. We've got one article in there that is exactly this sort of update - Ability Score Bonuses for races who don't yet have the new, more versatile approach to ability scores. And it is free, despite being listed as part of Dragon.

But we also have the Class Compendium entry for the Warlord. Will this actually just be an update of the original? Or will it instead feature entirely new feats and powers? By the end of the month, we should see whether this is the sort of update article they are talking about, and if so, whether they will provide the relevant information as part of the free monthly updates at the end of March.

Well, we saw a preview of the fighter. It was a bit cleaned up, but mechanically there was no change from PHB1. Doesn't mean their won't be a few tweaks in some of the classes being covered, but there's not much point in them making major changes. If they were going to do that why not just create an essentialized version? The only class that would make any sense for would be the Warlord really, but I figure this is just a way to clean things up a bit and add in some better way for the older classes to use options from Essentials material.

Well, they did say that Warlocks were going to get more than a simple "clean up" and format change. So, perhaps the others will as well. We shall have to wait and see.

That pretty clearly states the update will be in dragon.

Now, it may also appear in a rules update, and REALLY should, but that doesn't change the fact that it will be in dragon.
The class updates missing in Class Compendium: Heroes of Sword and Spell will be in Dragon... the rules updates will still be free. That's the way I interpreted the paragraph anyway, especially considering the link to the rules updates they provided goes to the non-DDI page that the updates have always been found on.

Will the class updates make their way into the rules updates? Who knows...
