S1: The Strange Case of Aif Jenkins' Farm (E13 judge) - Concluded

Boog and Juliana should post actions as well. They go after Rafferty, so I didn't mention them above, but since Rafferty is effectively out of combat, now, they have nothing to wait for!
OoC: Ok, so on Round 1, the wolves were still outside, and Boog attacked Toler and missed. Then on Round 2, the wolves came in, and one of them tripped Boog, and now it's Boog's action in round 2. Have I got that right? If so, just use the Round 2 action that I posted in Post 129, stand and manifest the power.

Note that if boog stands now, he'll give an AoO to the wolf. Does he want to stand? Or just touch from prone?
OoC: Stand is fine. He doesn't mind AoO's, so long as he doesn't go negative (will use Elan Resilience to prevent that). If Boog doesn't take much damage from the AoO, he'll hold the charge and melee next turn. But that's something to decide for Turn 3.

No, the wolves delayed their actions until the gate was almost down - after everyone else had had the chance to go. Then the wolves acted. Banion also delayed his action, so he's actually last in the initiative order. No one's actually acted in round 2 yet. Some people have posted their actions, but I haven't played it out. I'll give Juliana a little more time. Here's the revised initiative order:
Eusebius
Beamer
Rafferty (blind & outside the palasade)
Boog
Juliana
Toler (blind)
Wolves
Banion

Oh - what the heck. I know Bront's a fast poster & wouldn't want to slow us down!

Round 2:

Eusebius steps back and casts bless. This affects all his allies, even Banion (who's exactly 50 feet away! Everyone gets +1 on their attack rolls)
Beamer steps back and a pale green ray escapes from his fingers. It hits his lupine oponent, making it quiver visibly.

Boog struggles to his feet, opening himself up for another bite. Again, the animal's cruel teeth tear a terrible gouge from the Elan, but at least this time Boog is able to keep his feet. (Rolls. Boog takes 9 dmg) Boog then reaches for the beast, but in the chaos of battle, he can't find purchase for getting his spell off.

Juliana steps back a bit (to J14) to enable continued use of her glaive. It is an awkward blow, succeeding only due to Hyrag's blessings. She rips a gash in the beast's side, but it clearly has a lot of fight left in it. (8 pts dmg)

Do the wolves fighting Juliana & Eusebius incur an AoO for moving from 10 feet away to 5 feet away, as they close to bite? I would think so, feel free to roll, if so.

The wolves close with snapping jaws. Only Boog is unable to fend them off, taking yet another nasty bite (8 pts - down to 5. Is his AC really just 12?).

Toler has fled down the alley and is no longer in view. Rafferty is somewhere over the Palasade.

Banion can't currently see Beamer. He moves North (to O9) and can see his friend harried by the wolf. (Beamer is in I8, wolf in I9) He throws his blade into the melee, striking a bloody blow (14 pts dmg)
Round 3 is up!

OOC: The AoO is only for more than a 5 foot move. if they did a move action move, then yes, and the roll is Juliana's AoO on the wolves. (1d20+7=17, 2d4+7=13)

On her next action...

Juliana will drop her Guisarme as the wolves close, drawing her Heavy Flail, and wheeling it around to attack, unleashing her psionic force into the weapon.

OOC: MW Heavy Flail* (2H) ,+7, 1d10+7, 19-20x2, Juliana's Flail attack on the wolves. (1d20+7=21, 1d10+7=14), Psionic Weapon (2d6=11)

OOC2: Dang it! I rolled a second time on accident for the guisarme attack, got a 20 to hit :(

OoC: ok, that makes a lot more sense.

OoC: Er, the power was manifest but the touch attack didn't succeed, right? So I'm assuming that Boog is "holding the charge" and will get another chance in Round 3.
Manzanita said:
Is his AC really just 12?
OoC: Yup. Think of Psions as the psionic equivalent of Wizards or Sorcerors, with no Armor Proficiency. Now, he has no Dex bonus, +1 Bracers of Defense, and a +1 Ring of Protection...that's 12!

Now, for Round 3...

IC: The glistening shimmer that his body emitted seemed to do Boog no good as the wolf took another nasty bite, this time opening a gash in his thigh. The Elan took a short step to the side, so as to put a little distance between himself and the wolf attacking Eusebius. Fighting was harder than he thought! Again, he reached out with his free hand, but this time he seized the animal behind the scruff of the neck. The animal howled in pain as the iridescent sheen flowed from Boog to the animal and then dissipated. The low hum, which had grown louder, ended as quickly as it had started, and Boog's wounds seemed to miraculously close.[sblock=OoC: ]5' step to I12 to get out of the other wolf's melee range, move action. Melee touch attack at +4 (+3 +1 for Bless), d20 + 4 = 24, a natural 20. There is no additional consequence for a critical hit, so I won't bother rolling it. The successful attack transfers 24 damage from Boog to the wolf, plus any other damage he receives between the start of the round and his turn. 29/29 HP, 18/34 PP.[/sblock]

OOC: Of note, Boog would be better off wearing leather armor or masterwork studded leather than his bracers. No penalties, and +3 to the armor. Psions can cast through armor. Of course, Jules can pump her AC up to 25 if she wanted, but the 3/Adamantine DR and AC 21 is enough for now :)

Eusebius groans at the repeated strikes on Boog, then grins fiercely as the strange redhead's wounds miraculously transfer themselves to the beast. He himself launches a pair of kicks at the wolf attacking him, his legs moving so swiftly that they seem to blur in motion.

[sblock=OOC]Flurry of blows: attack +2/+2; damage 1d6+1/1d6+1; critical 20/x2.[/sblock]

OoC: Yeah, but those bracers can be buffed up to +5 as he gets the cash, and they weigh a whole lot less than armor. He's weight limited now, even at 13 STR (recall him asking people to carry rope on the last adventure?)

ooc: As I understand it, Banion had to move last round, and so is momentarilly unarmed. He'll manifest another mindblade and recharge it (two move actions) taking a 5' step if it will help get an opponent within 30'.

(I think I may be out of internet range for a bit, please npc Banion so I don't slow the game!)
