OoC: Is that true even if you don't have knowledge(religion)? You usually can only make DC10 checks if you don't have any knowledge in a subject.

Right. If you don't have any ranks in knowledge(religion), you can't make the check. The check probably won't affect the group's decision as to what to do next, though, so don't wait for this to decide.

Eusebius scowls as he recollects the unholy symbol inside the pack.

"We face devotees of Seto," he says, "and we are therefore at risk from assassins and other dwellers in shadow. Foul necromancers, too, are among their number - and for that, if for nothing else, they are hated by people of the Lightbringer."

He goes on to tell them all he knows of the cult, finishing up by saying, "We must be prepared to combat darkness in all its forms. I regret that I know only the simplest of prayers for light. We must take every opportunity to redress this lack!"

Banion sighs. More assassins! It looks like his luck hasn't changed after all. Probably the Paladin will turn out to be a Blackguard, too.

"I'm in. Do we suspect the Paladin is under some sort of mind controll by these people? Perhaps we should head for the Silverwood and find some of those evil forces for questioning."

OK. We're really stagnating here. Let me run a brief summary here.

Beamer and Banion were heading to Braeholl to find shelter and employment with Banion's 'cousin' Poto Knezer.

They met a knight leading a caravan. Supposedly this man was Thorvin Akenthrasher, the man Eusebius is searching for. Supposedly this caravan was also heading for Braeholl. Strangely, Akenthrasher, the missing paladin, was evidently accompanied on this caravan by an assassin follower of the evil god Seto.

The assassins have fled into Silverwood, where Akenthrasher had been working for the church of Hyrag. Siverwood is a big place, and the group has no real leads on where in Silverwood they might find clues related to their venture.

The group needs to make some sort of decision as to their actions or direction for the adventure to proceed.

ooc: Well, Banion wants to head into the Silverwood for a look about. It may be large, but if the adventurers don't find anything, it's a fairly harmless use of time. I think we're mostly waiting on Brother/Father E to respond to Julianna before we act. If he doesn't respond by this time tomorrow, perhaps you could NPC a fairly mild response?

OOC: Beamer is not over eager to go into the woods without any woodsmen or some idea where they are headed, but he figure the enemies following them won't find them in the woods either so he's up for it.

[sblock=OOC]Right folks, I think the worst of the RL mayhem is over, so I hope I'll be back on track now. Manz, thanks for that summary, since one of my problems lately has been finding enough time to go back over threads to remind myself of what's happened.[/sblock]
Eusebius frowns and says, "These villains should be brought to justice for their crimes, but my own mission is to find Torvin, not to punish them. If the paladin headed to Braeholl, then that is where we should look for him. If we have no luck, or cannot discover any other leads, then we can go to Silverwood and look for him there. Until then, however, let us head for the place where he was apparently headed!"

Unless anyone has something else to add, Eusebius will go and pay the bill for the whole party, then find the dwarf and indicate to him that they will be travelling with him to Braeholl.
