S1: The Strange Case of Aif Jenkins' Farm (E13 judge) - Concluded

OOC: I suspect that we may be in the right spot to deal with what comes next. And I'd like to explore a bit more before leaving. But I agree completely that E should heal the paladin some more.

"We've searched this place out, we should warn the town of those coming," Juliana says.

OOC: I think this place is searched out. Town is the place to be, especialy now if we're mostly healed up.

OOC: OK, what's happened to Aif Jenkins?

See, I suspect that there may be quite a bit more that we haven't seen yet. And if not, it won't take us long to look and then we can head into town.

And Manz, wouldn't the supposed paladin have regained some hp from rest? Does that bring him around or does E need to do some healing? Probably a Cure Moderate, I would think.

The party searches around some more, and Eusebius casts a cure moderate wounds on the injured stranger.

Aif Jenkins was last seen above ground. His farmhands who were with him have been accounted for. They are dead, having entered the underground complex. There is the strange gray body that seems to have met a violent death. It was fresh, yet you didn't seem to have met it.

The tortured man eyes you warily after the healing. He is only semi-functional. His hands and legs still damaged beyond Eusebius' ability to repair.

"Thank you for saving me." He says "Who are you?"

"I'm Beamer Glimmereye. I'm glad you've come around. We're from Orussus, though most not originally. Who are you, and what can you tell us of what happened here?"

OOC: I've got to start reading more closely when dead, gray featureless bodies are about. Oh well, Beamer still doesn't know much about that.

Eusebius bows to the wounded man - the bow of the martial artist, who, while acknowledging repect, never actually takes his eyes off the opponent.

"I am Eusebius, monk and cleric of the Shining One. I have been sent by the High Priest of Hyrag in Orussus to find Torvin Akenthrasher, paladin of the Divine Light. You resemble the descriptions we have had of him. Are you he?"

The man straightens to his full height and eyes the group as they introduce themselves. He seems surprised at Eusebius' statement.

"I am being saught by the high priest in Orussus?" He demands. "Why is this?"

"Why? Because you have not been regular in your communications - and because reports have had you acting out of character. The high priest was concerned."

"Now, please humour me. What is the high priest's name?"

"Ah. You speak of Verbotem the Chosen, I suppose. I haven't been down to Orussus in some time, but who can forget that old dwarf. He's was in that temple before my grandfater was born."

"So they are looking for me, eh? I'm acting out of character, and not keeping in touch. Well, I'm not at liberty to discuss my activities. Not with you anyway. And not right now. Thanks for the healing, but I need to get going. Now. Tell me what's going on here. Did you lot actually defeat the entire band of Curved Blades and orcs who had taken over this complex?"
